i’m not suggesting this isn’t serious. it’s absolutely serious.

but for the majority of disabled folks, there is already no recourse to abuse and discrimination if you can’t afford an attorney or get them to listen.

i lost two different jobs in retaliation for requesting reasonable accommodations.

in each case, i requested reasonable accommodation and was subsequently harassed and abused.

in neither case was i able to obtain justice or compensation as attorneys wouldn’t even speak with me.

I'm very sorry to hear that, unfortunately we are still nowhere close to where we need to be with disability rights. Discrimination is still frequent and you're right, a lot of us can't afford attorneys. Section 504 mainly involves K-12 schools (so disabled children often get 504 plans) and access to medical care at hospitals. I really wish the ADA brought us to where we need to be when it comes to accessibility, but we still have a long way to go.

No, they will blame Dems, women, DEI, black and brown people, disabled people etc. like the trained seals that they let themselves become.
